Y&B湿地交流協会について
Y&B湿地交流協会は、習志野市とブリスベン市との湿地交流事業の趣旨に賛同し、両市の市民・団体等の交流の発展及び継続に寄与することを目的とするボランティアの集まりです。湿地交流のためのブリスベン市からの、またブリスベン市への訪問者が円滑に活動できるよう様々な支援、又、そのための情報交換や湿地交流事業の広報等の活動を行っています。当協会の設立は2013年5月ですが、活動には習志野市とブリスベン市との湿地交流に1998年開始当初から関わってきた会員の経験やノウハウも活かされ今日に至っています。協会名は谷津干潟のY、ブリスベン市所在のBoondall干潟のBから命名されたものです。
About Y&B
Y&B Wetland Exchange Society (Y&B) is a group of volunteers who support wetland exchange initiatives between the City of Narashino and Brisbane City with a view to maintain and further develop such initiatives. Y&B assists visitors to and visitors from Brisbane for wetland exchange in planning as well as during their visits. Y&B keeps contact with people in Brisbane and is engaged in update of wetland exchange activities for the public.
Y&B was established in 2013, but the wetland exchange itself dates back to 1998 and some Y&B members have been involved in the exchange since then. Activities of Y&B benefit from experiences and know how of such members. Y&B’s Y stands for Yatsu Higata, and B stands for Boondall Wetlands.
